In August of 2010, I attended my first semester at Strayer University. All books, stipends, and BAH would be paid for because I received the post 9/11 GI Bill. So all I had to do is show up to class and pass. The problem is I received two book vouchers the first semester thinking I was entitled to them. I was wrong! I can’t register for the third semester because I have a past due balance of $275.33. If there was an issue before, why wasn’t it resolved 2 semesters ago? I called the VA and they stated that the situation is between the school and myself and that they only pay the school what the school asks for.
I truly believe that this school is taking advantage of veterans and their benefits. Not to mention in order for me to transfer, I would have to pay the fine, buy more books (out my own pocket from now on), p ass next semester and hope and pray that the next school will accept my credits and so far as the teaching skills it’s near remedial. It’s like the instructors cop an attitude when you’re asking a question. So all I can do is the best I can and pray that I have no more bills from this school when it’s time for me to leave.
